Taste of reindeer herder’s day

Experience the life of a Sámi reindeer herder and have a taste of reindeer herder’s working day. First you will have a transfer from Hotel Korpikartano to the home of the reindeer herder and after that he will drive you to the forest with a snowmobile and sledge. Reindeer are wandering freely in the forest and you have to find them first.

You can help your host feeding the reindeer and after work sit down by the open fire and just relax. Enjoy coffee made traditionally on open fire and feel free to ask more questions about the life of the reindeer herder. During the visit you will learn facts about the reindeer herding, sámi culture and  a life style in Lapland.

Reindeer are calm animals and you have a change to get very close to them. Some of them might be brave enough to be hand fed. Feeding offers great opportunity to observe and photograph these peaceful animals.
