Have fun in the snow! Usually in mid-October the first snow comes but it only settles for good around November. The Polar Night (in Finnish called “kaamos”) where the sun does not rise above the horizon is a significant part of winter. However, there is at least a low level of light during the day, often with the most beautiful pastel winter colours. In winter time you can ski, snowshoe, go husky sledding, try ice fishing, drive snowmobiles, meet the reindeer, learn about the Sami culture and, most importantly, enjoy the luxury of silence!
